2002 Fiat Doblo 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

my doblo cuts out when driving sometimes,and i.ve been told by a mechanic its a faulty imobiliser ?. Can you please help.

I would have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic computer to locate the fault !!
