I just acquired this truck listed above crew cab. The owner said the fuel gauge was not working, and he bought a new pump assembly. I installed the new fuel assembly, and the gauge is still not working. The engine runs okay, I am just not sure what to check next.

If you have a new pump and sender chances are the problem is the gauge itself, but here is the wiring diagrams so you can test the connection between the sender and the PCM which drives the gauge. This guide can show you how and I have included how to remove the instrument cluster so you can get a used are rebuilt unit. There is a slight chance the PCM is bad FYI.

I says it is for both engines with slight wiring variations for the differences.
