feel my brake pedal skipping

The most common cause of brake pulsation is warped brake rotors. Brake rotors, like all other parts, wear out. This can happen in a few ways. First, they can become too thin requiring replacement. Second, they can be damaged by worn pads causing gouges or scratches in them beyond a repairable depth. And finally, they can warp due to heat.

In this case, it sounds as though they have warped. When this happens, you can feel the brake pedal moving up and down. If, however, you hear the ABS motor actuate, that would indicate a possible faulty wheel speed sensor.

If nothing is heard, then replacement of the front brake pads and rotors is likely needed. To get you started, here is a link that explains in general how it's done. You can use this as a guide.
