Hi,

I followed the instructions posted here to replace my brake master cylinder.
The brakes are working fine but as soon as I start the car, I get messages saying "service brake system" and "stability control disabled"

What could I have done wrong? And how can I fix it now?

Regards,
Sharjeel

I will need to know if any OBD11 codes are present. Also, did you bleed the brakes correctly?

Thanks for your reply. There are no ODBII codes. I thought I bled the system well.

Often this can be a bleed issue. I would go and re bleed again just to make sure and let me know what expires.

Did you use a scan tool to bleed the ABS system? Any air that gets into that system will cause this.

Thank you again. I did not use a scan tool. Is normal bleeding going to get rid of the air or shall I start with bench bleeding?

OK. I managed to fix it. There were probably a few air bubbles trapped in the system and I managed to get them out by braking hard and holding the pedal for ten seconds and then letting go with a snap.
I had to do that 4-5 times and then on the last time, the warning lights went out and the system came on. I checked by switching the Stability control a few times. All is well now.
Thanks for your support.
