Hey! I was scrolling through a post that you responded to and found a similarity between my problem and the original poster’s problem.

My X3 has been giving me a Drivetrain malfunction for the last couple days and so I used my BMW diagnostic tool and got a series of codes.

In that post I mentioned, you said this “it sets another code that tells you if it is too high or low and that would give us the direction to go” which you were referring to the code 120408 usually setting off another code to that tells you if the pressure is too high or low. In my case, the code is paired with 101f01 which says “Throttle valve opening angle - intake pipe absolute pressure, comparison pressure too low” which I’ve looked into, and it could be a few things. Either the PCV Valve, Valve cover, or crankshaft Rear and/or front main seals.

I would just love your opinion on this problem! Thank you so much, it’s much appreciated.

You nailed the problem with the valve cover because there is a rubber diaphragm that goes bad and causes an internal vacuum leak which can cause the engine to run lean. Here is how to change it out to fix the problem. Also here is the PCV heater which if the tube goes bad it can leak so, please check this out as well. Clear the codes when completed. Check out the images (below). Please let us know how it goes.
