Fan like sound when i accelerate after being in traffic

When I am using my car specially while in traffic or hot weather, there is a fan like sound when I am accelerating. But after a couple of seconds of pressing the gas pedal to 2000 rpm the "fan like sound" disappears, and it goes back again after a traffic or in a traffic light.

I read your article about intake tube and I think it is possible that is the problem.

There is no 2015 Mitsubishi Montero. A 2005 Montero does not have a four cylinder engine either. So my information may be wrong, as I guessed that you had a 2005 Montero with a V6 engine (the only engine available).

I am betting that the sound you are hearing is like a combination of a roaring and whooshing sound. Probably your cooling fan clutch is slipping a little bit.

With the engine off and cold, turn the cooling fan by hand. It should have some resistance, but still turn. If it turns freely or lightly, then the clutch has failed and needs replacing. Check it and let us know.

I live in the Philippines and there is a Montero 2015 here.

But anyway i will check my fan according to what you said, I only experience this in traffic and in hot weather but my engine is not overheating,

Ah, that explains why I cannot look it up. Still, look and see if you have a hydraulic clutch fan. I am betting that you do and that the clutch is slipping a little bit when it is hot. My truck does the same thing. Personally, I would not worry about it unless it starts running hot.

I checked my fan blade and turn it and it has resistance but it turn, I think my fan clutch is ok. Hmmm,

My other guess is the intake tube. But i checked and it was ok.

I still bet it's the fan clutch. I honestly cannot think of anything else that fits the symptoms that you're describing. You might be able to take out your thermostat, which would cause the engine to run cooler. If it makes the sound less often with no thermostat, then that would confirm a slipping fan clutch. Unfortunately I have no access to specifics about your truck, so I can't tell you how to do that.
