When the engine is 100% cold, at idle, the fan clutch of my truck is activated for a brief moment, then it is deactivated and the car starts to work normally. From a few days here, he stopped doing it and tends to raise the temperature more than normal when I have the A/C turned on, but it still continues to activate normally when it is idling. The question is: is it possible that the fan clutch is not activating when it reaches the temperature due to a failure or bad condition of the temperature sensor (ECT)?

Good morning.

Yes, it is possible as that is the sensor that sends a signal to the ECM for turning the fan clutch on and off.

I attached a picture and description of the system for you.
