Fallen Rocker arm

I have the truck listed above1500, that was misfiring on cylinder number 6. Upon taking the valve cover off to inspect it, I saw the rocker arm is off. I'm not sure if I can just put it back in or if I have to tear into the engine more to put it back in. Also wanted to know what would cause this rocker arm to come off all of a sudden.

The rocker arm falls off because it is broken/worn, or the engine was over revved. I would get a new one and look at the camshaft to make sure the lobe is not damaged. Please send images if you are unsure of the damage. Here are instructions on how to replace the rocker arm in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

So, after driving the car for a while check engine light came back on for cylinder number 6. I took it apart and the rocker arm has fallen off again, not sure what else it could be.

Okay, well on these engines I have seen the valve stick down due to the valve seat becoming loose and not allowing the valve to close completely. This created a gap between the camshaft and rocker which spits the rocker off. Can we do a compression test on this cylinder and compare it to the cylinder next to it please? This guide will help:

Please run down this guide and report back.
