My car struggled to start for the first time ever and I'm 3 hours from home with a toddler. I'm being told that my pump may need to be replaced. This is the very first time that I have had any issues with my car. Can I drive the 3 hours home or is it too risky?

Hi,

That is a tough question to answer. Any part can fail at any time. Is it possible for you to have fuel pressure tested? Also, can you describe to me what it did when you tried starting it?

I don't know if you want to check yourself, but here is a link that explains how to test pressure. Let me know if it helps.

Let me know.
