Good evening,
I have had good luck with the shop vacuum. Put it in the area of where it went in and see if you can suck it out.
Beyond that, you may have to pull the dash to get to the ducts

Should I put a net over the hole to suck it out?

Not at all. The suction is so strong, if it is loose in the duct, it will pick it up. Then check the filter in the shop vacuum for the piece.
