My truck would cut of or hesitates badly when you stomped it and i cut the mufflers out and it ran better. i then proceeded to gut the cats just to see if i could get a better result truck runs like a champ now. I am in the process of running true dual straight pipes on it.

So you had a whole bunch of parts become plugged at the same time, and somehow the engine ran okay at times and cut out suddenly at other times? What exactly is the question?

This can be one of two problems, either the fuel pressure is low due to a weak pump or plugged fuel filter. Or the ignition timing is off, here is a guide to check the fuel pressure.
