Occasionally when I want my car to be louder, I disconnect the back of exhaust from the h pipe?

Is there any real danger in doing so such as increased risk of carbon monoxide poisoning or anything else?

Hi,

All exhaust should exit past the body of the vehicle. In this case, that isn't happening. As a result, it does increase the likelihood of exhaust fumes entering the vehicle.

Let me know if that was what you meant or if you have other questions.

Take care,

joe

Thanks. That’s what I figured but it should still be okay to run it like that, correct?

Hi,

That's a loaded question. LOL It won't hurt the vehicle, but it could hurt the vehicle. In PA, I have to fail a vehicle for state safety inspection if the exhaust exits the body and has no leaks. I'm not sure where you are located, but I would imagine it's the same.

If you do this, make sure to leave a window open just in case. However, I can't recommend doing it. I hope you understand.

Take care and Happy 4th!

Joe
