Excessive vacuum?

Hi,

The engine only produces 15 inHg to 22 inHg. You say the PCV is stuck shut. In which direction is it stuck, toward the engine or toward the intake? When you disconnect it, that is when it should stall because it creates a large vacuum leak.

Do me a favor. With the engine running, disconnect the PCV from the valve cover. Place your finger over the end and let me know if there is a vacuum present. If there is, see how much pressure is coming from the opening on the valve cover.

Let me know. Also, you may have a plugged vacuum hose, so check that as well.

There’s no vacuum coming from the valve cover. It’s excessive vacuum from intake when I hook PCV valve hose up it sucks it shut from intake and shuts off the engine.

I'm missing something. When you connect the PCV and it sucks shut, that should eliminate a vacuum leak and the car shouldn't stall. When it is disconnected, the engine is likely to stall.

Is there a chance you could provide a pic of what you are dealing with? Also, when it stalls or is running, are there any strange odors or smoke from the exhaust?

The intake is pulling so much vacuum when I hook the PCV hose up it’ll shut off the engine and it smokes bad for a while then it’ll stop for a while.

Where is the smoke coming from? Is it the exhaust? If so, what color is the smoke? For example, is it white, dark gray, blue, and so on?
