For some reason my car is using a lot of fuel. I seem to fill the tank everyday, and it should not be that bad. I changed the air filter, it did nothing. I had a Chevy dealership fix the purge solenoid valve and they said that would fix the problem, but after driving it, I realized it did not fix the problem at all and I have a family who relies on me having this vehicle in working order, so I need to know what to do to fix it.

Have a mechanic scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge as well as for vacuum leaks. You didn't say what model this is so i'm thinking maybe a cruze. It can be any of these as well as a heavy foot causing the problem.

It's not a heavy foot. The mechanic already checked for issues and fixed a solenoid valve, but it's still using a lot of gas. It is a Chevy sonic

Well check items I've previously mentioned also have it checked for a plugged converter you can try an intake hook up with a vacuum gauge if 15" or lower suspect that and there also is a tool that can be installed in place of O2 sensor to see if to much back pressure. One other thing if you have something that plugs into the diagnostic link on bottom left of dash pull itout as on GM cars they screw things up at various things also if this car has had a tuner put on it for more power etc. That can be a cause of poor gas mileage as it richens the mix up to make more power.
