The only time it's not leaking is when the heat is on. It leaks a little stream when the car is running with A/C on or off.

Hi,

Is this leaking into the vehicle or on the outside under the vehicle? As far as the water, it is normal when the A/C or the defroster is on. Also, when the A/C or defroster are off, it should eventually stop leaking. Is that what is happening?

Let me know.

No it's not leaking into the car. Where the evaporated purge line comes out through the firewall under the hood. It has the color of the antifreeze green with a small stream. The car had been running for 15 minutes or so still doing this. How long does the car need to be running for this to stop? Also do I need to drive it some and for how long?

Hi,

Okay, we aren't on the same page. When you said evaporated line, I thought you meant the A/C evaporator. There shouldn't be anything green coming through that. Is there any smell in the vehicle? If it is green, it does sound like coolant. Can you take a pic of where it is coming from so I have a better idea what we are dealing with?

Let me ask this; is there a drain hose 5/8 diameter that comes through the firewall that is hooked up to a drain pan around the heater coil on the inside?

Hi,

That sounds like a heater hose that runs between the engine and heater core. It could be 5/8" hose. That would make sense as to why it is a green fluid coming out.

When you get a chance, send a pic. That will help me identify what you are working with.

Okay, here's a picture of it. Let me ask you this. Is there a pan like that the condensation from the A/C drains into? That if the heater coil is leaking it could leak into that pan and drain out that hose? Also when I went over to my friends house yesterday to take the picture the water had all leaked out of the reservoir over night with the car just setting there.

Hi,

That does look like the condenser drain. In all honesty, no, coolant shouldn't get into that portion of the HVAC system.

If you lost coolant overnight, here is what I suggest. You need to pressure test the cooling system. You will need a pressure tester, but most parts stores will lend one to you.

By doing this, you should be able to see where the leak is coming from. Follow this link and let me know what you find:

If coolant starts leaking from the hose in the pic (A/C drain) we need to take things apart to see what is happening.

Let me know.
