Hello, my name is Keith Mitchell and I just got an error code reading from my vehicle "P0453" and it said something about a high pressure from the EVAP system. From the research I have done it could be a faulty sensor or a leaky connection due to worn out O rings or a few other things and the repair cost could be upwards of $300.00. I was just wondering if there was a cheaper alternative doing it myself and if you could give me a few things to check myself before paying so much for a garage to do the work?

Thank you!

The number one cause for the code is a bad fuel tank pressure sensor. The first step in diagnosis would be to remove the gas cap. The use scan tool to see what the fuel tank pressure sensor is reading.
