What is the name of the part that connects to the evaporator core on one side and the expansion valve on the other?

It’s two metal pipes with connections on both sides (one for evap core and one for expansion valve). The expansion valve needs to be replaced but it seems as though someone used something other than the bolts to connect it so now the old expansion valve is bonded to the part I can’t find.

Hi,

I attached a pic below showing what I believe you are referring to. Interestingly, the manual calls them AC lines, but I've always referred to them as "evaporator tubes" or "evaporator lines." Not that I think of it, that really isn't much better. LOL

Take a look at the pic and let me know if I have the right part.

Take care,

Joe

Hey, Joe! It’s not that part. What I’m looking for is actually the piece in between the evap core and the expansion valve. After speaking with the dealership, it’s actually not sold individually, nor does it come with the evap core or expansion valve. It’s crazy because if that part is damaged, is the car totaled? LOL I was able to find some people parting out the same vehicle I have, so I’ll be taking a trip to remove one later today! I appreciate the answer!

Hi,

I'm glad you were able to find what you need. It's frustrating because oftentimes, manufacturers stop making parts after a vehicle is 10 years old. The problem is people are keeping them longer simply because not many can afford a new one due to extremely high prices. So, what you did is certainly the best option.

If you have a chance, let me know how things turn out for you or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
