Good morning.
The canister vent valve will have two hoses.
The canister purge valve only has one hose. The other end bolts directly to the intake manifold.

Okay, so could that be causing the issue I am having? Also, will it cause gas to leak? Do you know what hose I am supposed to get for it? I bought a new part to get it replaced that also did not come with a hose.

If you have gas leaking from the EVAP canister you have a bigger issue. That would mean the canister itself needs to be replaced as it shouldn't have liquid gas in it. The most common reason for that is called gas packing. That is when the person filling the gas tank tries to squeeze in more fuel after the nozzle has kicked the pump off. The liquid gas then goes into the vent line and into the canister.
