The ETC light was on off occasionally, did a filter and fluid change on transmission and a minor tune up, spark plugs and wires. Now both ETC and ABS lights come on and stays on, usually after hitting a bump. I am aware of the meanings of these and know they are intertwined but unsure of the problem. Thoughts? Thanks.

Will update with code read soon.

I had a similar issue with my Blazer (intermittent ABS and brake light in my case). I poked around and found that one of the wires going to a wheel speed sensor looked frayed at the connector. When I got it scanned, the code indicated an issue with that wheel. I fixed the wiring when I got some time and the light has stayed off for a few weeks now.

Update: had codes read, says it has zero codes. Yet the lights are still on. I am thinking you may be right on wiring being bad. Going to check them and see. Also, it happens every time for sure when I turn wheels to the right.

Only certain code readers will read ABS codes. The dealership has one. Some auto parts stores have one, but not many. In my area its the local advance auto that has one. So there is at least one code in there, it is just not a PCM code.

Before you pay for a scan, go ahead and check for wiring and other issues. You might get lucky.
