My traction control lights will appear from time to time during driving usually I’ve noticed on a bumpy surface or speed bumps but will turn back off after some time. I’ll attach a picture of exactly what I get when pulling codes. I did a visual inspection of my wiring harness and connectors I did find a break or close to a break in the wiring harness for the camshaft position sensor. So I ordered a motorcraft pigtail wpt990 which will be here by week end. I have no idea if that’s the source of this code so any information on direction to look at will be greatly appreciated.

The ABS will be disabled if the YAW sensor is out C1280 FORD - Yaw Rate Sensor Signal Fault. Let's find the sensor and check the connection if okay let's replace the sensor. Here is the location in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

This could be the issue with the pigtail as it seems like it is a loose connection.

However, I suspect you may need to replace the restraint control module due to the description on the code.

I attached the info below on how to replace this if the connector does not solve the issue.

Please let us know what you find with this and we can go from there. Thanks

So is this more under the wheel or the shift console between the two front seats? If you say between the two front seats I’m more likely to see that being the issue as I’ve recently took CrC electrical cleaner trying to clean up old soda / dust debris from over the years. I very much remember a very large soda being dumped basically over that console in s wreck and imagine it just ran all down there. Now my shift control lever is actually semi loose plus I’ve changed the bushing probably 6 months ago attempting to tighten things up. Do you think the two are related?

This is on the inside of the vehicle under the console. So if there was a soda spilled then I would just jump straight to taking this out and pulling the connectors off and inspecting them for signs of corrosion and liquid.

You may be able to clean the connector but may have to replace the RCM as that is most likely not going to be able to be cleaned. Just make sure you disconnect the battery before you start this as that can cause issues if the power is left to the module.

Thanks for this information. That really helps.
