EPS light turned on

Tonight my EPS light just came on. The car is driving normally. I had my oil changed a few days ago. About 10 months ago I had my (steering motor or maybe entire shaft I think) replaced. I’m pretty sure they used aftermarket parts. I really don’t know anything else. Right now it drives normally but I’m pulling it off the road until I have it looked at tomorrow. Any ideas? Also does anyone know if tires plus handles EPS lights?

It is hard to know if those tire places will look at these issues but normally it is if they have a mechanic that is willing to look at it.

I would suggest we start with checking the codes and going from there.

Clearly if the vehicle is running well then this is most likely not overly serious but still something we need to get figured out.

Thanks. They hooked it up to the machine the next morning. The EPS light was already off. They could see that the light had gone on but nothing else. They said bring it back right away if it comes back on otherwise bring it back in 7-10 days for a free retest. So far I’ve driven it over 200 miles with no issues. Fingers crossed. And no, tires plus doesn’t do any of that so they say.

We can only hope that this doesn't come back but I was kind of hoping we would find it as I am curious what the issue is.
