Okay, so my brother has the vehicle listed above and well the motor is toast. So we are looking for a motor but ran into some issues. His car had a 1.8l dohc 16v engine in it but all we can seem to find is 2.0l for the car. My question is, can we fit a 2.0l engine in the car that used to have the 1.8 in it? We know little to nothing on this topic need help ASAP!

Hello, I'm Danny.

Unfortunately, no installing a 2.0L into a 1.8L car will not work. In theory you could make it work but it would require changing a lot of electrical components. The PCM-power-train control module controls all facets on how the engine runs and is programmed to your specific vehicle with the 1.8L and therefore would be different and not compatible for a 2.0L. I would suggest to still keep looking for a 1.8L replacement. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions on this issue. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

Good morning,

I found a lot of them for you.

Go to www. Car-part. Com. Enter your information and choose engine. You will need your production date off the door for the correct one.

I posted a page of them for you to view.

Hello again.

It looks like Roy found some for you that are close by. I'm in Southern California so most of my auto contacts are in the Los Angeles area. It would probably cost more to ship than it's worth. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

No, you will need the ultra low sulfur emission engine.

Hello again.

Yes, if you look at the emissions sticker on the under side of the hood or on the radiator support it will show all the emission controls your car requires to be legal. Keep us updated or let us know if you have any other questions on this issue. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
