Engine does not crank?

Hi,

I need to know a little more. What do you mean by you used a fusible link on the battery?

As far as the issue is concerned, check to see if any of the fuses in the central junction box are receiving power. From what I'm seeing in the power distribution schematic, power is run directly to the CJB. The only place I'm seeing a fusible link is related to the alternator.

Yes, the fusible link is directly after the post battery terminal.
I will check for power to fuses.
What is CJB?
If starter relay is bad could that be reason I have no dash lights, no headlights, no cranking, nothing at all.
Or could fusible link be the issue?

If the relay is faulty, it would cause the no crank issue. However, not the other things you mentioned. I suspect the fusible link has failed and not sending power to the fuses. As far as CJB, that stands for central junction box. Sorry.

If possible, take a pic of the battery area where the fusible link is located and upload it for me to see. It may help me. When I look at the schematic, it doesn't show it.

Yes, the fusible link is right on the positive cable.
I don't know if it was factory installed or put there by previous owner?
I see a fusible link in the image you provided.
I will test tomorrow. Here is a picture.

If that is running directly to the fuse box, first see if there is power to any of the fuses. If there isn't, check the fusible link for continuity.

Note that the fusible links shown in the schematics are related to the charging system. I'm not sure if that is going directly to the fuse box or if a different one is. The large wire with no fusible link should run to the starter.

I replaced the relay, no power still.
Look at the pictures.
Hi, i see that a large gauge wire comes off of positive terminal then split into 2 smaller gauge wires.
Then these terminate and 1 large gauge and 1 smaller gauge continue to alternator?
I need to check the continuity of all wires and will get back to you with results.

The larger gauge wire likely goes to the starter motor. If you have a smaller gauge wire with a fusible link, that is likely for the alternator.

If you want to skip a continuity test for the fusible links, check the black wire with an orange tracer and the orange wire with a light blue tracer at the alternator for power. You can use a test light for this. There should be battery voltage at all times.

What does the added wire go to? The one that has the aftermarket yellow connector.

I will check on where all wires go to.
The added red wire goes to driver's side firewall.
I need to find where that leads to also.

Let me know. Someone added that wire, so I'm not sure what it is for.
