Engine will not start

I had someone look at the truck first they said it was the fuel pump then they said there was no engine compression. He said the oil was all sludge even though I had the oil changed two years ago (guess they never did it!). The truck just gets used around a small town so not much mileage. I would like to know can this be fixed?

We need to determine what is happening before we can fix it. If the oil is all sludge, there may be internal damage. I need you to first determine what the engine compression is.

Additionally, there are two other things I need to know, fuel pressure and if the ignition is working (getting spark to the plugs).

Check those three things and let me know what you find. Once I have that information, I will be able to better direct you. Also, most parts stores will lend you the tools needed to check these items.
