Engine will not turn over

Car drove well until it died on the highway. Now has totally dead electrical system: no lights, no dash lights, no start, no turn over no click when turning key. Will not jump start.

Follow the smaller positive battery wire to the under-hood fuse box. Be sure that connection is clean and tight. Follow the smaller negative wire to the body and be sure that connection is tight and not rusty. If those are okay, check for 12 volts on the large output wire on the back of the generator. Tell me what you find.
