Engine will not rev with engine check light on

V8 • TURBO • 4WD • AUTOMATIC

The truck will not rev when the eingine check light is on and when I disconect the engine check light and restart the engine it acts like it is governed it will not change to the third and fourth gears.

Please help as soon as possible as this one I cant figure it out.

scan for codes and check fuelpressure with a gauge first. if this is a meduium duty truck we have no info onit.
