Engine will crank but not idle

Oil soaked spark plugs means that either the head gasket is leaking, the valve seals are leaking, or the piston rings are leaking. That needs to be fixed before you can go any further.

But there is oil in plenum not just plugs

I'm sorry to say, but that tells me your engine has big problems. Not really something that can be readily diagnosed with looking, touching, smelling, and tasting. It sounds like blow-by (bad rings) and a really bad PCV/breather pushing oil into the intake.

Only 150,000 miles seems like that would happen more at 250,000 miles
But could be /this one has been a real headache!!

Ford engines are notoriously temperamental. If they haven't had extreme TLC their whole lives, they tend to complain. I had an Escort for awhile. I bought it at 20k miles and only gave it synthetics every 2000 miles and took care of all the little things. At 60k two valve seats dropped into their cylinders and caused the engine to grenade.
