The radiator hose became disconnected in the car overheated. After repairing the hose, the car now has a vibration from the engine and a ticking noise coming from the valve area. Help

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. It might be you have a broken valve spring are the engine got too hot and you have low compression on one or more cylinders, or the head gasket is blown.

Here is a guide that you can go over for more information:

Please go over these guides and report back.

Thanks for the video. which is a nice car, sorry about your troubles, it does seem like the engine is hurt, like a head gasket is blown between two cylinders, which is common when overheated. To confirm the problem, we need to do a compression test. This guide can help and show you which side the gasket is blown on, if so, I would do both gaskets since the engine will be apart.

If you would like to do the job yourself let us know and I will give you instructions. Please let me know how the test comes out.

Compression test showed no compression in no. 8 cylinder. On week before the problem, the mechanic said he could smell antifreeze in exhaust. Worth digging into?

That is up to you, the engine will need to be disassembled to see what the problem is. Please let us know what you find.
