Engine takes a long time to reach operating temp. Thermostat was replaced. What else might control the rate at which engine warms

Engine speed, temp outside whether system is full or not stuff like that. If you drive around 2000 rpm all the time it should do ok.

Thanks for the reply, coolant system is full and was flushed, doesn't seem to make any difference if I drive city or highway. Just takes a good 10-15 miles to get close to normal temp once it reaches normal temp it will maintain it.?Im stumped

What temp thermostat was installed? It should be a 195 if lower temp that may be problem.

Bought it from car quest, requested oem part, but you might be on to something there. Hate to pull it apart again, but would be the only way to verify the stat temp marking.

If you have the box look at that it will probably say temp on it.
