Engine swapping?

I have the car listed above sedan (VIN F 8th digit) engine that started knocking recently. I was wondering if can swap it out with a 2017 or a 2018 Elantra hatchback GT 2.0L GDI (vin H 8th digit) and will it line up with the transmission I have currently?

Hi,

Before doing anything, contact a dealer near you. There are several different issues with bearing issues that are being covered under (what I call) a silent recall. If you have an engine knock, the powertrain warranty is 10 years or 100,000 miles, so engine replacement should be covered regardless at their expense.
