Hey, I am trying to engine swap my v8 4.8L to a v8 5.3L and I was watching your videos said that too much power depending on the camshaft you put can make the piston crack. So, i was just wanting to know if I could use these summit pro LS forged pistons #(SUM-2999273810-2) with this Chopacabra camshaft #(TSP-CHOPacabra)?

Hey there!

Thank you so much for watching the series!

Yep, that camshaft should be fine with those pistons. I used those exact same pistons, and my camshaft had more lift and duration with zero problems.

If you are really worried about the valves touching the pistons you can fully assemble one cylinder with the head and valve train, slowly rotate it over and feel for any contact.

Thank you for using 2CarPros!

Best,
Ryan
