Are the engines in a 2001 Taurus and a 2001 Windstar interchangeable?

Hello,
That year Taurus has 3 different engines. One is the duel overhead cam and other two ore overhead valve engines.
The Windstar uses a overhead valve engine with a different VIN code.
Unfortunately those engines are not interchangeable as they have different VIN code. Which means they will have different programming for the computers and different torque mapping.
