I want to replace the 4.0 stock engine on my manual gear land cruiser with the bigger v8 engine while keeping it manual. Is this possible?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Anything is possible, but in this case, you will be replacing everything. Years ago, it was easy to do this kind of change. Now, if you do it, nothing that came with the smaller engine will work. That includes, the computer, wiring harness, emissions system, I don't even think there is a V8 that will bolt to this transmission. Also, motor mounts are wrong, the radiator may need moved and the list goes on.

If it was me, I wouldn't consider it, but that is your call. As far as directions, we won't have anything for this type of procedure.

If you have questions, let me know.

Take care,
Joe
