Transmission issues after engine swap?

If you do an engine swap what would cause the transmission or what would cause the car not to want to engage in driving after you replace it with another engine or after an engine swap what would cause the transmission to lose power.

If the torque converter is not seated correctly when you bolt the engine up it will damage the front fluid pump of the transmission and will need to be repaired. This video will should you what I am talking about:
