Surges from a stop

Changed out the car battery after a no start one morning. Battery was the factory original. Had a issue trying to start the car with the new battery installed, car had to sit for twenty minutes before it would start then idled rough for awhile. Took it out and drove around, car was running rough and felt like it was going to shut off at stop lights. Very low idle. Over time is corrected itself, but it still at times surges from a stop.

It sounds like the adaptation got erased when the battery was changed and the car is slowly relearning the operation systems. Can I ask if the old battery was jumped and if so where the cable connected backwards for a second? Let run the codes to see what comes up. To help us see what is going on here is a guide:

Ran codes and got a P2006 code. Battery was not jumped it was totally dead and we replace it.

Yes it sounds like the computer is still learning. That code is for an intake runner issue which happens when the intake gets dirty inside (coking) and needs to be cleaned I would also clean the throttle body as well. Disconnect the battery before you begin. Here is a guide:
