I was driving my car today and I noticed a light that said "O/D OFF". I didn't know what this meant so I told myself I'd look it up once I got back home. As I continued driving throughout the day, I noticed my oil light began turning on and off periodically before staying on permanently. Shortly after that I noticed my check engine light came on.

Now on my way home, I decided to take the highway, this is where the big problem began. As I neared my home I began hearing the engine give off a fast "clicking" sound(mind you i'm going about 50-60 mph). This sound got faster and faster as I pressed the gas pedal so I tried to ease off of it. And then I decided to go faster so I could get home before the car suddenly stopped working. Once I did this the "clicking" got really fast to a climax point and then the car jerked. I noticed that the car wasn't accelerating as I gave it gas and then the car slowly came to a full stop where I became stuck.

I tried starting the car again but it just did a fast clicking noise. What do you think could be the problem and what's the estimated cost to repair?

Wow. The "Oil" light means stop the engine immediately to prevent major engine damage. Time to start looking for a different car, I'm afraid. Ten seconds without oil pressure is enough to do serious damage. Forcing it to keep going is the last thing to do.
