Engine sputters and dies when Mass AirFlow sensor is connected

I have a 2005 Yukon 5.3 gas. It just up and died on me one day throwing a code referencing the crank position sensor. Replaced that. Also changed out the cam position sensor. Same problem... It runs for awhile, then stumbles and dies.

A buddy of mine disconnected my MAF when the stumbling was happening, and the vehicle now runs just fine... I swapped out the MAF to a new one, and when connected the engine does the same thing. It'll run fine for a few minutes, then it will stumble and die.. It no longer complains about the cam or crank sensors.

No idea.. Not sure if it's temperature related, or other weirdness. I let it run for 30 minutes and drove it around the driveway with the MAF disconnected last night and it ran fine.

It now throws a check engine light code refrencing the MAF, but otherwise seems to run just fine.

if you disconnected the maf sensor the computer went into open loop which means it's like an emergency type of running. your fuel mileage probably suffered. rescan for codes and try resetting security system some times it screws up and will only let engine run for a short period of time. make sure battery is in good condition and have it tested including load test. do battery prior to trying a security reset if you don't you may have to reset after a battery disconnect.

Thanks -- Battery is new/good. I'll try the security reset to see if it makes a difference.
