Engine shutting off

When sitting still I rev it up to 2,000 rpm and just shuts off. Taking off in first slow seems to work, but giving it a little gas causes it to die. It does not hesitate. When it does shut off no check engine comes on and it does not start back up right away it needs to sit for about five to ten minutes. Please help!

Idle issues, as you described, are usually the result of a bad idle air control valve (IAC). The IAC is responsible for maintaining a smooth idle.
