I have the truck listed above Dodge with a 5.7l Hemi. While driving the engine will shut down, all dashboard lights come on as if you are starting it. It is an automatic transmission on a console. I will move it into neutral and it seems if I'm at highway speed it will just start back up by itself. I move it back into drive and I'm off and running again. Sometimes when it happens it seems if I'm at a lower speed I can put it into neutral and start the engine myself while it is still moving. Put it back into drive and I'm running again. Once the truck restarts all lights go off and it is all back to normal. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

By any chance, are you using flex-fuel? There was a technical service bulletin related to a stalling problem when it has been used.

If not, you need to have the can-bus system scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all of the modules/computers are tied together via a few wires. By performing a can scan, it will identify any codes regardless of the module involved.

Here is a video showing how it's done:

This is where I recommend starting.

If you can, have this done and let me know what codes are found.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe
