the car shuts off when slowing down

I have had some extensive work done to this car. New heads, thermostat, alternator and now the car shuts off when slowing down. Put it in park and start it right back up . Not sure what this issue is.

Hi,

Does it only happen with your foot off the throttle? If so, have you checked for engine vacuum leaks that can cause this type of an issue? Here is a link that shows how:

Also, is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running? This also could be related to the idle air control valve. (IAC) The IAC is responsible for maintaining engine idle speed. Here is a link that explains how to service one:

Let me know if that helps or if the check engine light is staying on with the engine running. I've attached a pic below showing the IAC location.
