Is there a way to remove it through the top? I’ve seen a few done that way. What do I need to remove to do that and torque specs?

I am sure you might be able to take the engine out from the top, but they recommend the subframe be removed with the transmission. Since I don't know anyone that has done this I can say for sure. Start by draining the coolant and removing the battery. I would remove the hood as well. One problem I can see is there might not be enough room to separate the engine from the transmission while it is inside the car. Here is how the book says it should be done. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.

I’ve pulled it through the top less hassle then pulling it through subframe.

Good job, I look at things to see if they could be done another way, the book is not always right, and I have not pulled the engine on this car yet, so I didn't know. Thanks for letting us know, we are here to help, please use 2CarPros anytime.

That is hard to say, I would see if you have all the correct sensors in the new engine and go from there.
