Change oil put in 5w- 20 synthetic oil. From a cold start engine rattle. Then it's normal. Should I switch to a heavy oil?

How long does the rattle take place? If it is just a second or two then I suspect the oil is related. This issue is the lifters pumping up as they will bleed oil pressure when sitting. Then the oil pressure needs to build before they stop rattling.

Here is a guide that talks about the common reasons for a rattle:

Maybe we can get a recording of the noise and that will help us determine what this is. Thanks

The rattle last 2 second. Do you think Lucas oil additive build the lifters from bleeding down when sitting? Or what weight oil?

I would not worry too much about it. However, if you want to try and quite this down then you would want to thicken the oil just a bit. This way the lifters will stay pumped up a little longer. You can use that Lucas oil product and it may help.

I attached the spec for the oil and it is calling for what you used so this ticking would be considered normal. So I would not spend too much time or effort in trying to figure it out.

If the rattle wasn't there prior yo the oil change you might want to check which filter you used, a bad or weak anti drainback valve in the filter could also cause this as it lets the system bleed down and the pump has to fill everything back up.

The best oil is the one in the weight the manufacturer specifies. In your case I don't think the oil is the problem. If the rattle started after the oil change as you imply in your post, it is more likely just a defect in the filter.
I've had filters where the valve inside was bad or in some way damaged and it would cause start up rattle because it didn't hold oil in it. Changed out the filter for a different one and the rattle went away. As for filter brands, I try to stay with original equipment or if not possible I'll use Wix, Baldwin, or Mann depending on the application.

As for using a heavier oil, if you had a few hundred thousand miles on the engine and it was rattling all the time, not just on the initial start then maybe, but in 99 percent of cases the specified oil is the right one to use.
