Engine has no pressure

The engine was once opened by the mechanics but now it has no pressure and makes some noise when on operations.

No pressure as in what, no cylinder compression?
Why did a mechanic once open the engine and what did he do in there?
What type of noise does it make now and when, at idle revving up, in gear, hot/cold, etc.?

the mechanic changed the oil pump, the shaft, grind the valve, replace the cap change the the top gasket.

The engine do smoke, like burning oil and when you drive it the movement is retarded. the mechanic open it because it once had oil water mixed and crank shaft sensor error.
