Engine Power Reduced, code p1682

Hi,

The code is related to what you mentioned, ignition 1, circuit 2. This could be something as a loose or damaged connector at the ignition switch, the switch itself, or anything that can create a voltage variation between circuits 1 and 2.

Before doing anything, I want you to remove and inspect the ignition 1 powertrain relay. It is located in the fuse box under the hood. Simply remove it, inspect it for corrosion at the connectors, or any evidence that there is damage causing a poor connection. See pic 1 for the relay location.

Now, if everything looks good, switch that relay with a different one under the hood having the same part number and see if the same issue exists. If there isn't one with the same number, here is a link that explains how to test a relay.

As far as driving the vehicle with a scanner attached, that could help simply because they want to confirm what leads to the voltage variation. However, that isn't where I would start. I would personally focus on the mechanics of that circuit, wiring, fuse, relay, and so on.

Hey, i'm missing a relay #26 (front fog) would that play a part in the (engine power reduced). So, i did exactly what you told me to do. I bought some brake cleaner spray, and i switched the fan/#33. I also sprayed some in all the relays except for the fuses, I'll drive it tomorrow and will keep you posted.

I'm not sure using brake cleaner is the best idea. I didn't mention that. Please make sure it has time to completely dry. It is extremely flammable.

As far as the fog light relay is concerned, that wouldn't cause this.

So, if that doesn't work, what do you recommend? I was leaning towards having my mechanic look at the following: electronic throttle, (throttle body), pedal position sensor, throttle position sensor, and circuit board.

Chances are if it is anything with a circuit board, it will be nonrepairable. If you don't find any issues from the things I mentioned, then we need to check the connections at the ignition switch next.

Is it possible you can send a diagram of the relay part number in the fuse box, so i'll know what part # goes where? The actual part number on the relays.

The APP sensor diagnostics are based on codes. All codes begin with P2. I attached the information below.

Starting with pic 9, the procedures for testing the TAC system is provided based on your specific code.
