Engine pipes inlet or outlet details

One of the pipes connected to the engine is bitten completely by rodents. Car still starts and can drive without any issues. A/C also working fine. I am not sure what this pipe does? Can somebody explain? Is it safe to drive without fixing it for few more days before I can send car for annual service checkup?

Welcome to 2CarPros. That appears to be one of the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) hoses. I wouldn't drive it a lot with that open. It will allow dust and grime into the engine.
It is just common hose so shouldn't be hard to replace with a section off the parts shelf.
I would also look at all the other wires and hoses for damage, very likely there is other damage. Rodents are a real bother.... Honda sells an anti-rodent tape that has pepper extract in it that helps keep them from eating the wires and such, not cheap but it's another tool.

Thanks Steve. Much appreciate quick reply on the thread. I just cut off the bitten part and tighten the hose around the valve as per your suggestion. I will get it checked thoroughly sometime this week. Just a month back rodents chewed the fuel gauge and got it replaced with the one with wired mesh around it. I'll check with them again if they have Honda tape with pepper extracts. As of now I am using 3M Rodent repellent coating and found it ineffective on rodents around my house. Thanks again.

Good to hear. Not about the rodents though. I've fought with them as well, have repaired a lot of their damage over the years. Never found anything that works 100% except using metal wrap!
