engine noise and overheating?

The most common cause of this is a head gasket issue. So, this is where we need to start.

Once we confirm that the head gasket is leaking then we need to try and narrow it down to one bank so that you don't have to do both. This normally will show up in a compression check. Here is a guide that will help with this:
