whooshing sound

engine makes loud whooshing sound when starting cold. getting worse, like air escaping or pressure leak somewhere. only lasts for seconds. been doing this for 6 months.

Hello,

It sounds like you may have a vacuum leak or a serpentine belt that is dry. Here is a guide to help check for the vacuum leak and to change the belts.

I have a rattle in the engine at higher speeds especially when i accelerate at higher speeds. what could be the problem/problems

Hi there,

If you can post your engine type, i will be able to have a better idea as to what your problem may be. But i would be checking engine oil pressure first, do this with a master gauge. if the oil pressure is ok, start looking at external items as well, alt, water pump etc.
