Engine noise oil change and oil pan gasket replacement

I changed the oil/filter and replaced oil pan gasket. Now when started it makes a grinding noise (sounds like top of engine near starter). Thanks for any help.

If this started after the oil change then we need to check the oil level and what oil you used. If the oil is too thick then it will take a few seconds for it to pump up to the top of the engine. So the noise you are hearing is the lifters tapping before they pump up.

Let's check the oil level and then the pressure and we can go from there.
