Check engine light comes on before the transmission engages into fourth gear, once the light is on it won't engage fourth gear. Diagnosis detects crank shaft and camshaft B sensors.

Hi,

This model Toyota isn't offered in the US, but I will try my best to help.

The idea that the crank and cam sensor codes are found usually doesn't cause a problem with the transmission. Especially, if it only happens before it shifts to fourth. To me, that sounds like the vehicle is going into limp mode. Do the other gears work when the light is on? Also, you mentioned a misfire. Are there codes related to that as well?

Let me know as much as you can. Additionally, let me know the codes that were retrieved. I may not have the specifics on the model, but the codes are usually the same.

Take care,

Joe

If I may help, this is caused by Knock Sensors. Replace them then you will be sorted.
