Code PO299, engine management light, metallic clicking sound while driving?

Thise code po299 is for an under boost condition in the turbo system can be a few things like bad intercooler issues with the turbo itself brocken crked loose joints pipes ect .could be somthing broken of in the turbo its hard to say but start there .good luck

I think the code has nothing to do with the noise, which to me sounds like a timing chain, guide or tensioner issue. It makes this noise when the chain is loose, you can remove the valve cover and use a long standard screwdriver to check the play.
